Mountain celebrates Ms. Mendy’s dedication to supporting students’ academic growth and cultural connection—click to learn more!

At Mountain School, we are so fortunate to have Ms. Mendy as our Title VI Indian Education paraprofessional. She works closely with our Native American students, supporting both their academic growth and cultural connection.

Ms. Mendy pulls our upper-grade students for targeted support, where they strengthen their skills through journaling, building vocabulary, and engaging in meaningful cultural lessons—including creating beautiful jewelry. Her work honors tradition while helping students grow as learners.

Every Friday, she spends the entire day in Mrs. Ross’s classroom, supporting reading instruction, helping students follow directions, and sharing her knowledge with all of the children. She also has lunch with our TK–3rd–grade students every Friday—a time filled with connection and community.

And if one of her students invites her to a music concert or special event, you can count on Ms. Mendy to be there. She shows up.

Ms. Mendy is kind, generous, and deeply committed to our students. They know they can count on her—and so can we. We are incredibly grateful to have her as part of our Mountain School family. 💙
