Mrs. Ross’s class took learning outdoors this week, spending the afternoon exploring the incredible natural surroundings of Gasquet. Students hiked through the area, identifying native plants and comparing different types of leaves while learning about the local ecosystem. Along the way, they collected unique rocks to begin a classroom rock garden — a lasting reminder of their field adventure. The trip offered students a hands-on opportunity to connect science lessons with real-world observation, teamwork, and curiosity. It was a wonderful day of discovery, appreciation, and learning in one of the most beautiful places in Del Norte County.
